About Woodside

Woodside is a small town on the San Francisco Peninsula. The population was 5,287 at the 2010 census. Woodside brings the best of both worlds – a rural resort-like living experience yet still just minutes to vibrant cities like Palo Alto in the heart of Silicon Valley and just 40 minutes to San Francisco. Woodside is home to notable residents that include Stanford University professors, professional coaches and athletes, philanthropists, famous musicians, entertainment stars, and entrepreneurs.

Woodside is known for its wooded beauty. Parks and open spaces in and around Woodside provide a beautiful backdrop to the small community. Wunderlich County Park, Huddart Park, El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve, and Windy Hill Open Space Preserve are all great places for hiking. Among the many hiking trails, there are also equestrian trails. Horses are a part of the local culture and many residents keep horses on their property. The Horse Park at Woodside offers 272 oak-studded acres with trails and numerous other equestrian activities.

In the state legislature, Woodside is in the 13th Senate District, represented by Democrat Josh Becker, and in the 24th Assembly District, represented by Democrat Marc Berman. Federally, Woodside is in District 14 of the U.S. House of Representatives, which is represented by Democrat Jackie Speier.
